The search for a new home for the pantry began in the year 2000 when Marengo area OutReach Enterprises became an organization. At that time the Board began looking at existing buildings or the idea of new construction. A fundraising campaign began in 2001. As time passed it became evident that new construction would be the better way to go to meet our expanding needs. Land became available in late 2005 and was purchased on December 30. The fundraising campaign was rejuvenated.

Ground was broken in October 2006 and the M.O.R.E. Center opened August 8, 2007. The total cost of the building and land was $335,737.34. Of that amount $64,878.66 is in a loan. Contractors and community volunteers donated services and reduced costs totaling nearly $100,000.00.

The MORE Board of Directors is proud to announce that the mortgage debt has been PAID IN FULL as of September 18, 2011. We thank everyone who has made this possible.
